How Important is Your Choice
of Subwoofer Enclosure?
Many tend to overlook the impact that the correct
Sub woofer box or enclosure can have on your vehicle's sound
system. In order to maximize the performance and sound quality
of your sub woofer, one is wise to select a professionally,
factory built custom Sub woofer box.
Sub woofer boxes come in all shapes and sizes but
in most cases your specific vehicle will determine which type
of enclosure will work best for you.
Generally speaking, Sub woofer boxes are available
as sealed, ported or vented and bandpass configurations. Sealed
boxes usually take up the smallest amount of space while
bandpass boxes usually require the most. Sub boxes can be made
of wood, fiberglass or various composite materials.
We provide the largest variety of custom and
universal Sub woofer boxes imaginable. While most custom sub
enclosures are molded in fiberglass or composites, they are
normally sealed enclosures. Our new line of specific vehicle
boxes by RT/Obcon are also available in MDF. These have become
especially popular since they are available in a patented
"Slot-Vented" construction providing louder bass from your sub
with less power applied. While many ported boxes offer what
would be called a 'single note' loud and loose sounding bass,
these "Slot-Vented" boxes provide a loud but more musical
sounding bass.
MTX thunderforms go one additional step by
providing boxes integrated with a class D mono amplifier. This
of course solves the "space" problem of finding a location for
your amplifier. Of course they are equiped with MTX
subwoofers.
We haven't left those out with vehicles with no
specific applications. Our universal and truck style boxes by
RT/Obcon will do the job with large variety of famous make
subwoofers. We even have competition level boxes with 1" MDF
baffles for massive style subwoofers.
